One of India’s highest-selling woman writers, Twinkle Khanna, is the writer of the bestselling non-fiction book ‘Mrs Funnybones’. She is an Indian actor, author, columnist, interior designer, and film producer. Born in a family of actors, Khanna's parents, veteran Hindi film actors Rajesh Khanna, insisted she joins the film industry. In 1995, she made her first appearance in Hindi films with ‘Barsaat’. It was a hit at the box office, and she received the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Her second project, ‘Jaan’, also became one of the best-grossing films of the year. Until 2001, Khanna was seen in numerous movies in the industry. However, she got married to Akshay Kumar in the same year and decided to leave the industry. After quitting, she opened her first interior design store in Mumbai in collaboration with Gurlein Manchanda. In 2011, she turned into a producer by cofounding Grazing Goat Pictures, a production house. After producing several movies in the Hindi cinema, Khanna launched her own production house called Mrs. Funnybones Movies. She has left no stone unturned to explore various career options. After turning into a book writer, Khanna became a newspaper columnist. In 2019, she also launched ‘Tweak India’, which is a digital platform for women.
